The purpose of Local Multimedia Expenditure Reports is to help advertisers gauge their competitive position in local markets. Every quarter we survey more than 10,000 local television stations, cable systems and interconnects, radio stations, outdoor companies, magazines, newspapers and business journals to gather information about local media spending data in categories such as automotive, fast food, healthcare, banking, auto parts, wireless communications, hospitals, supermarkets, gaming, gas/convenience and more. Participation in our studies is high because they serve media interests. In addition to helping advertisers focus on spending locally, media participants receive local reporting at no charge. Data reported by each source remains confidential as we aggregate all data by medium. 83 percent of the media we survey participate; among major media vehicles, cooperation is even higher. Our quarterly expenditure reports provide clients with an excellent view of local competitive conditions.
